Chief Master Sergeant ISRAEL NUNEZ

Chief Master Sergeant Israel Nuñez is Command Chief, Fourth Air Force, March Air Reserve Base, California.

As the senior enlisted leader, he is the commander’s primary advisor regarding the welfare, morale, operational readiness, and discipline of the enlisted force. Fourth Air Force has command supervision over the Reserve’s long-range airlift and air refueling units located throughout the continental U.S., Hawaii, and Guam. Fourth Air Force is dedicated to ensuring assigned units and personnel are properly organized, trained and equipped, and ready to support national security requirements across the full spectrum of operations, from war to contingency situations. Fourth Air Force provides leadership, management, and oversight to 18 flying wings and one regional support group, which provide strategic airlift, airdrop, aeromedical, air refueling, and associated expeditionary support activities. Fourth Air Force’s responsibilities encompass 300 units and more than 32,000 personnel.

Chief Nuñez, entered the Air Force in 2000 and has extensive background in executing and leading air transportation operations. A veteran of several deployments, Chief Nuñez has deployed to various locations in support of Operations ENDURING FREEDOM, INHERENT RESOLVE, and FREEDOM’S SENTINEL. Prior to his current assignment, he served as the Command Chief Master Sergeant of the 459th Air Refueling Wing, Joint Base Andrews, Maryland.

Additionally, Chief Nuñez serves as a Chief Orientation Course instructor for Air Force Reserve Command’s Professional Development Center. In this capacity, he participates in the senior leadership development of dozens of newly selected Reserve Chief Master Sergeants.
