ROA names Yeager Chaplain of Year for 2010

  • Published
The Reserve Officers Association of the United States announced Chaplain (Maj.) Carol A. Yeager, as Chaplain of the Year for 2010.

"I am honored to be selected by ROA as their Chaplain of the Year, an honor only made possible by the opportunities God has given me through the Air Force," said Chaplain Yeager. "I am grateful for the support and many sacrifices of my husband and children, and the mentorship of outstanding chaplains throughout my career. I endeavor to continue their example as I mentor other young chaplains."

Yeager is an ordained pastor in the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America and serves with the 916th Air Refueling Wing at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base, N.C. A former active duty line officer, Yeager has 10 years of service as an air battle manager. She joined the Air Force Reserve in 2005.

In support of contingency operations, Yeager developed a monthly chapel readiness program ensuring all unit members maintained full readiness status. She proved a dedicated care giver, frequently contacting and bringing encouragement to the families of deployed members.
