Free flights home for the holidays Published Dec. 16, 2009 By Master Sgt. Linda Welz 4th Air Force Public Affairs MARCH AIR RESERVE BASE, Calif. -- In the spirit of giving, there is an orgainzation donating airline tickets to the military's active and activated junior enlisted to fly home for the holidays. Let's Bring 'Em Home, a non-profit organization began in 2001 when Ernie Stewart, an Air Force veteran, decided to do what he could to give back by soliciting donations to pay for airline tickets to give to junior enlisted folks to be with their families during the holidays. To find out more check out the organization's web site. There you can request a ticket, donate miles or money, view the non-profit group's tax returns for the past several years, see who has donated, see who is being ticketed (although it does not specifically ID individuals), "meet" the staff, etc. Only five percent of all donations they receive go toward administrative costs with the other 95% going toward the tickets being purchased.
