445th Airlift Wing administers first COVID-19 vaccine

Reserve Citizen Airmen from the 445th Airlift Wing received their first COVID-19 vaccine Feb. 26, 2021. The Moderna COVID-19 Vaccine was administered by members of the 445th Aerospace Medicine Squadron. Each member receiving the vaccine was monitored for development of side effects and waited 15 minutes after getting the vaccine before they were allowed to leave. The two-dose vaccine was recently approved by the Food and Drug Administration under an emergency use authorization and are currently offered to Defense Department personnel on a voluntary basis. Reservists receiving the Moderna COVID-19 Vaccine will receive their second dosage 28 days after receiving the first dosage
